Tokophobic is an uneasy feeling filtered through the twisted maze that is Toronto's PATH system. written, produced, and edited by yours truly.
Scripted, shot, and edited in just 48 hours, it debuted at the Radio and Television Arts annual 48HR Film Fest, where it won Audience Choice.
Shooting guerrilla under a tight time-limit was a fun challenge for me and the rest of the crew. In between excursions, some of us caught up on sleep and snacks while the rest of us rewrote the script to incorporate spur-of-the-moment shots we loved and cut around shots we couldn't get.
In the last 2 hours before submission, we became aware that the festival's guidelines forbade blood. In a flurry of quick thinking and quicker edits, we recut our pregnancy horror into something rated G -- even if it meant getting rid of our favourite shot.
